The CS1642A is a 2-port USB DVI Dual-View KVMP switcher designed to control multiple dual-monitor computers from a single console. It provides DVI dual-link support up to 2560×1600@60Hz and single-link 3D support up to 1920×1200@120Hz. The unit integrates a USB 2.0 hub and audio switching for streamlined multimedia workflows.
Key features include independent switching of KVM, USB and audio focus, Multi-View display capability via daisy-chain, and Video DynaSync technology to prevent boot-up display issues. The switcher supports widescreen resolutions and is HDCP compliant for protected content. It also supports advanced nVidia 3D Vision ready 120Hz display modes for 3D visual effects.
Performance specifications include DVI Dual Link 2560×1600@60Hz and DVI Single Link 1920×1200@120Hz for 3D display. The unit consumes DC 5.3 V at 10.6 W and operates between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. Scan interval for auto scanning is user configurable from 1 to 99 seconds with a 5 second default.
Connectivity options cover 2 USB Type A console ports, 2 DVI-I console ports, front and rear USB hub ports, and multiple KVM ports including 4 DVI-I and 2 USB Type B computer connections. A daisy-chain RJ-45 port enables Multi-View chaining to expand dual/triple/quad display setups. The CS1642A is compatible with Windows, Linux kernel 2.6+, Mac, Sun and FreeBSD platforms.
