The CS1308 8-Port USB PS/2 KVM switcher provides a single-console solution to manage multiple computers. It allows one keyboard, mouse and monitor to control up to eight machines directly. The unit supports 2-level cascading to expand control to as many as 64 systems from one console.
Key features include simultaneous PS/2 and USB interface support for keyboards and mice, multilingual on-screen display (OSD), and selectable computers via front-panel push-buttons, hotkeys or OSD. Video DynaSync technology maintains EDID information to eliminate boot-up display issues and to optimize screen resolution when switching between ports. The switch supports hot-plugging so computers can be added or removed without powering down the switch.
Performance specifications include video support up to 2048 x 1536 with DDC2B, auto scan interval adjustable from 1 to 255 seconds, and emulation for PS/2 and USB keyboards and mice. Power consumption is DC 5.3 V at 5 W, and the enclosure is metal for rack or desktop durability. Firmware is upgradeable and the device does not require additional software installation.
Connectivity covers 8 SPHD-15 computer connectors and a single SPHD-18 console connector, plus an RJ-11 flash ROM upgrade port. The switch supports Auto PS/2 and USB interface detection and includes controls for buzzer on/off via hotkey and OSD. It is compatible with Windows, Mac, Linux, Unix, Sun and FreeBSD platforms.
Typical applications include broadcast control rooms, server farms, IT maintenance stations and multimedia production suites where centralized console access and fast switching are required. The CS1308 simplifies multi-system management and reduces desktop clutter by consolidating peripheral connections. Password protection supports up to four user profiles to limit access to authorized operators.
