The BTR-80N is a 2-channel frequency-agile UHF wireless intercom base station designed to provide reliable full-duplex wireless communication for production and event environments. It supports up to four full-duplex beltpacks and includes an integrated talk/listen headset station at the base. The unit operates on discrete transmit and receive bands to minimize interference.
Key features include Enhanced ClearScan two-button frequency selection, combination tone code/RF noise squelch, and DSP digital audio processing for clear intelligibility. The system delivers a 25 kHz modulated bandwidth to maximize channel density in constrained UHF spectrum. Front-panel controls include independent enable/disable buttons for portable stations and a transmit power level switch.
Performance specifications include a factory-configured A5F RTS C3 frequency allocation with 554-572 MHz transmit and 650-668 MHz receive ranges. The system provides an approximate 1000 ft operating range under typical conditions and supports wireless talk-around (ISO) and stage announce output with relay closure. Digital signal processing and audio gain control optimize voice clarity across connected devices.
Connectivity options include dedicated 2-wire XLE and 4-wire RJ-11 connectors for wired intercom integration, plus balanced XLR auxiliary audio input and output. The front-panel headset connector automatically detects dynamic or electret boom microphones and the headset station has dedicated headset and boom mic volume and gain controls. The base offers compatibility with Audiocom, Clear-Com, and RTS wired and wireless matrix systems.
