The BTR-80N is a 2-channel frequency-agile UHF wireless intercom base station designed to support multi-user, full-duplex communications in demanding production environments. It provides direct headset talk/listen capability at the base and supports up to four wireless beltpacks simultaneously. The unit is engineered for reliable RF performance and simplified operator control.
Key features include Enhanced ClearScan two-button frequency selection, combination tone code/RF noise squelch, DSP digital audio processing, and a front-panel A4M headset jack that auto-detects dynamic and electret boom mics. The base supports wireless talk-around (ISO) and a stage announce output with relay closure for external signaling. A front panel talk/listen station allows a fifth simultaneous user for director or engineer access.
Performance-wise, the BTR-80N uses improved narrowband modulation to provide an effective 25 kHz modulated bandwidth for denser channel packing in crowded UHF spectrum. The system offers factory preset frequency groups and independent 18 MHz bands to simplify frequency management. Typical operating range is specified at 1000 ft and the unit includes a transmit power level switch to adapt to site requirements.
Connectivity includes balanced XLR auxiliary audio input and output, dedicated 2-wire XLE and 4-wire RJ-11 connectors for wired integration, and full compatibility with Audiocom, Clear-Com, and RTS wired and wireless intercom systems. The large backlit LCD and transparent, menu-driven graphical user interface simplify navigation and assignment. Front-panel Portable Station enable/disable controls include LED status indicators for quick system checks.
