The BTR-80N is a 2-channel UHF wireless intercom base station designed to provide reliable crew communications in congested UHF environments. It supports up to four full-duplex beltpacks simultaneously and includes a talk/listen headset station at the base. The unit is frequency-agile and includes factory preset groups for simplified deployment.
Key features include Enhanced ClearScan frequency selection, combination tone code and RF noise squelch, DSP digital audio processing, and a transparent menu-driven graphical interface with a backlit LCD. The base station implements wireless talk-around (ISO) and a stage announce output with relay closure. A front panel headset connector auto-detects dynamic or electret boom microphones for immediate use.
Technical performance highlights include narrowband modulation with 25kHz modulated bandwidth and independent 18 MHz band organization to maximize channel availability. The provided frequency ranges for this variant are 554-572 MHz transmit and 650-668 MHz receive.
