The BTR-800 base station is a UHF wireless intercom designed to provide reliable full-duplex voice communications between a central hub and up to four beltpacks. It operates across 470-740 MHz frequency ranges and supports frequency-agile operation for adaptive channel selection. The unit is rackmountable or usable on a tabletop and includes an A4F headset jack for local monitoring.
Key features include two independent audio channels, full-duplex simultaneous talk and listen capability, and ClearScan automatic channel selection to find the best operating frequencies. The system supports wireless talk-around and stage-announce functions and provides relay contact closure for stage announce control. TR-825 beltpacks support binaural two-channel operation in stereo or mono modes.
Technical performance includes two synthesized transmitters with 712 selectable channels each and transmit power selectable up to 100 mW. Frequency stability is specified at 0.005 and frequency deviation is 40 kHz (35 kHz Europe). The system delivers a frequency response of 300 Hz to 8 kHz and local headset output rated at 40 mW into 600 ohms.
Connectivity is extensive for an intercom base station – balanced 4-wire input and output with level adjustment, auxiliary balanced input and output, a microphone input, and an IEC mains connector. The antenna connections use TNC male connectors for TX and RX and a 1/2 wave antenna is supplied. The base station interfaces with Audiocom, RTS two-wire intercom, Clear-Com and other four-wire communication systems.
Typical applications include live event communications, broadcast production coordination, and stage management where mobility and clear, simultaneous communications are required. The two-channel architecture allows creation of party line and private line channels within the same beltpack. The wireless talk-around feature and stage announce functionality support both FOH and stage monitoring workflows.
Installation and operation are straightforward – the unit supports rackmount or tabletop placement and uses a standard IEC power connector for AC mains. Beltpacks use standard alkaline batteries and provide approximately 12 hours of operation under typical use. The housing and components are designed for reliable field use with weather and shock resistant beltpacks and robust RF performance.
