The BTR-800 base station is a UHF-synthesized wireless intercom station designed to provide reliable full-duplex voice communications across multiple beltpacks. It supports up to four beltpacks and two independent audio channels so users can operate a party line and a private line from the same beltpack. The base station operates across the 470 to 740 MHz bands and is built for line-of-sight operation up to approximately 1,000 feet.
Key features include frequency-agile operation, ClearScan automatic channel selection, and a backlit LCD for clear monitoring of beltpack status. The system supports full-duplex simultaneous talk and listen, Wireless Talk-Around (WTA), and Stage Announce (SA) control with relay contact closure on SA activation. TR-825 beltpacks add binaural two-channel operation in stereo or mono modes for improved monitoring flexibility.
Technically the base station offers two synthesized transmitters with 712 channels each and FM modulation with a deviation of 40 kHz (35 kHz Europe). Transmit power is adjustable up to 100 mW (high) and 10 mW (normal), and RF frequency stability is specified at 0.005. Frequency response is specified at 300 Hz to 8 kHz while battery-powered beltpacks run on standard alkaline cells for approximately 12 hours of operation.
Connectivity includes level-adjustable 4-wire input and output, auxiliary balanced input and output, microphone input, local headset output, and IEC mains power. The stage-announce output is internally adjustable and the stage-announce relay is a dry contact rated at 1 Amp, 24V max. Antenna connections use TNC male connectors and a 1/2 wave antenna is supplied.
The BTR-800 is suitable for live events, broadcast, theater, and sports productions where dependable wireless intercom is required. Its compatibility with Audiocom, RTS Two-Wire Intercom, Clear-Com and other four-wire intercom systems allows integration into existing communications infrastructure. Optional antenna systems can extend effective operating range for larger venues and outdoor applications.
Installation is straightforward with a rackmountable or table-mount form factor and a convenient IEC power connector on the base station. Beltpacks are housed in a weather- and shock-resistant die-cast magnesium case for dependable field use. Features such as ClearScan, the backlit LCD, and simple relay-based stage-announce control make setup and day-to-day operation efficient and predictable.
